If we legalize drugs and tax it, we can solve the financial crisis

I had the same idea recently. The Taliban is funded by Afghan drug sales. All we need to do is grow our own poppies and MJ and put the drug cartels out of business. US farmers would have a cash crop, it could be regulated and taxed, and the financial problems would melt. Fill the airwaves and schools with health info and drug warnings but let those who must have drugs have them for a price.
